Our story
A place to call home. A chance to move forward.
ASH Foundation is being formed by a family with a shared purpose: to help people facing homelessness and serious housing hardship associated with disability find safety, suitable housing and practical support.
We are at the beginning of that work. This is the commitment behind it.
The ordinary things that matter
A key in your pocket. A familiar place to return to. Somewhere to wash, rest, prepare a meal or welcome someone you trust.
These things can be easy to take for granted when they are available. When they are missing, everyday life can become a series of difficult decisions.
For a person with disability, a home may also need to make daily activities possible: entering safely, moving around, using essential rooms and having the right support nearby. A place to stay is only part of the question. Its suitability matters too.
We want our work to begin with those realities, and with the person who understands their own life best.
Why we are bringing our family together
Our family shares a wish to contribute to something that serves people beyond ourselves. ASH Foundation is the organisation we are establishing to turn that wish into accountable charitable work.
We want compassion to lead to practical action: helping someone understand an option, reach an appropriate service or obtain essential household assistance when serious hardship stands in the way.
The Foundation’s purpose will guide how resources are used. Assistance will be based on assessed need and approved programme criteria, with fair decisions and clear boundaries.
Meet our founder

ASH Foundation began with something personal: the stories of close friends and families.
Those stories inspired Eby Mathew to turn his commitment to community service into a new initiative. Rather than a single defining moment, it was these personal connections that helped shape the idea behind the Foundation.
Eby is a Perth-based entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience across technology, business and marketing. He is the founder of Accelerate Business Performance and has also been involved in developing social and disability housing initiatives through ASH Spectrum.
His connection to Perth extends beyond business. Eby serves as Vice President of the Joondalup Business Association and has held leadership roles with Lions, including Past President of the Lions Club of Whitford and Zone Chairperson. As a husband and father, family is also an important part of his life.
Through ASH Foundation, Eby is bringing these personal, professional and community connections together around a clear purpose: helping people with disability and people experiencing homelessness access safe housing, dignity and belonging. The Foundation is being established to turn that purpose into practical, accountable support.
A letter from our proposed President
Dear friend,
A place to call home holds so much of ordinary life: rest, privacy, safety and the freedom to make everyday choices.
Our family is establishing ASH Foundation because we want to help make those possibilities more accessible to people facing homelessness and serious housing hardship associated with disability.
We are at the beginning. We have a shared purpose, and we are doing the work needed to build an organisation that can act on it responsibly.
Our intention is to begin with practical help. That may mean supporting someone to understand housing options, connect with an appropriate service or access essential household assistance.
I believe this work carries a responsibility to everyone involved: the people seeking support, the people who may give their time or money, and the community whose trust we hope to earn.
We must be clear about what we can offer, careful with resources and honest about progress.
If this purpose matters to you, I invite you to follow our beginning.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about ASH Foundation.
Eby MathewProposed President, ASH Foundation
Start carefully. Listen closely. Earn trust.
Good intentions are a beginning. Delivering useful help also takes funding, capable people, appropriate safeguards and honest reporting.
We want to make promises we can keep, learn from the people our work is intended to support and build relationships that help us respond responsibly.
We will share progress as it happens, distinguish plans from completed work, and explain what is available when services open.
The future we want to help make possible
We want more people to have a place where they can feel secure, exercise choice and take the next step that matters to them.
That next step will look different for everyone. Our role is to listen, respect that difference and provide practical help within our purpose and capacity.
