Disability housing support
A home that supports the way you live
Suitable housing is personal. It can mean being able to enter safely, move around comfortably, stay close to support or make everyday choices with greater confidence.
ASH Foundation plans to assist people with disability who face serious difficulty obtaining or maintaining suitable housing.
We want the person’s goals, preferences and circumstances to guide the assistance considered.
What our proposed assistance may include
- Help to identify a practical housing barrier and possible next steps.
- Connection with appropriate housing, disability, tenancy or community services.
- Assessment of essential costs or practical assistance connected with suitable housing.
- Follow-up with consent to understand whether assistance has helped.
All assistance will remain within the Foundation’s approved scope and resources.
Choice and respect
You should be able to ask questions, explain what matters to you and involve a support person if you choose.
Receiving assistance will not require you to buy services from a particular related business or agree to have your story used in fundraising.
Our proposed criteria do not require someone to be both homeless and living with disability. We will consider the actual housing hardship and the help being requested. NDIS participation will not, by itself, determine access.
Where we are now
Applications for assistance are not yet open. We are preparing the Foundation and its programme.
